عطور رين دي سبأ - Reine de Saba

Reine de Saba Perfumes – The Essence of Sheba Reaches the Throne of French Perfumery

In an age where perfumes are often sold as fleeting commodities, Reine de Saba emerged as a niche brand that stands apart—redefining fragrance as a journey, a story to be told, and a heritage to be celebrated.

From the heart of the Champs-Élysées in Paris—one of the most iconic addresses in the fragrance world—this house was founded in 2022, infused with thousands of years of olfactory history from the unforgettable civilization of Yemen.

Founder and Visionary

At the heart of this modern legend stands Habib Al-Suwaidi, the celebrated Yemeni perfumer whose talent has been enlisted by major fragrance houses such as Yves Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne, and Givenchy.

Not merely a perfumer, he was also the private fragrance designer for the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz—a man who understood the power of scent, with a deep passion for the ancient arts of incense, amber, and frankincense.

Habib set out to redefine the concept of oriental perfumery—not just by reviving the scents of history, but by making each bottle a message of peace inspired by the legendary visit of the Queen of Sheba to Prophet Solomon, where gifts of incense and perfumes symbolized Yemen’s ancient role as a source of beauty and aroma for the world.

The Perfumers – Golden Messages to the Queen

The house has worked with some of the most celebrated names in perfumery:

Dominique Ropion, Sophie Labbé, Nathalie Lorson, Meabh Mc Curtin, Mathieu Nardin, Arturetto Landi, Fanny Bal, Honorine Blanc, Michel Almairac, Alberto Morillas.

Each left their own unique mark—not only through the composition, but also through a personal message written to the Queen of Sheba, engraved in golden ink on the back of the bottle. Each flacon becomes a poetic, emotional keepsake before it is even a fragrance.

Laboratories of Pure Niche

All Reine de Saba perfumes are produced in French laboratories dedicated to niche perfumery, using rare and pure ingredients extracted through advanced technologies such as LMR (Laboratoire Monique Rémy)—ensuring a fragrance experience of the highest quality, depth, and distinction.

The Bottle: From Glass to Gold

The bottle design is a true masterpiece—crafted from thick, clear glass adorned with golden engravings. At its center lies the brand’s emblem, inspired by the Throne of Balqis, a historic relic still visited to this day.

The cap? A story in itself—inspired by the crown of Prophet Solomon’s Hoopoe bird, the sacred messenger between Sheba and Solomon. Its golden curves and intricate details evoke wisdom and power, giving each bottle a signature feel.

The Box: A Tale Carved in Time

The outer box is a deeper statement: decorated with engravings in the ancient Yemeni Musnad , one of the oldest writing systems in human history.

This is not mere decoration—it is a tribute to Yemeni identity, and a celebration of the very roots of the Arabic language.

Seven Fascinating Facts About the Musnad Script 🇾🇪

  1. Musnad was used by ancient Yemenis to express their Arabic language in the kingdoms of Saba, Hadramawt, and Ma'in.

  2. It includes 28 letters, along with a silent letter called "Samkh."

  3. It contains distinct Arabic phonetics such as Ḍād, Ẓāʾ, Ghayn, and Ḥāʾ—confirming its Arabic roots.

  4. Modern Arabic evolved from the ancient shapes of Musnad through stages.

  5. The Qur’an can be written in Musnad without changing its meaning or structure.

  6. Latin, Hebrew, or Persian letters cannot express the Qur’an except in translation—not as original .

  7. Musnad is uniquely written in alternating lines—right to left on one line, then left to right on the next—and its letters are non-connected.

As Shakib Arslan said: “European scholars, including the German orientalist Mortens, believed that the origin of hieroglyphic writing was in Yemen, and that it was the Arabs—not the Phoenicians—who invented writing. The Greeks borrowed from them, followed by the Romans.”

Final Words: From Balqis to Paris

Reine de Saba is more than a perfume brand. It is a gateway to a civilization, a love letter from Yemen to the world—expressed in every drop, every bottle, and every Musnad letter engraved.

If you wish to wear history on your skin and live fragrance as a story, then Reine de Saba is the beginning of a journey that will never end.
